What is Motivational Growth?

Standard

growth7

Motivational Growth starts with the death of Kent. Kent is the only friend Ian has left in the world, they have a pact that they would be there for each other to the end, though in truth Ian always assumed he would be the first to go. Kent is a 1964 Commodore television. This might seem sad but it’s better than being left with the plants who were always plotting something untoward.

This is the end of the road for Ian who decides to end it all. Unfortunately Ian has never been good at plans, or action hence why his only friend in the world is a television set and he hasn’t left his apartment in over a year. Now when you fail at most things the answer is death but it seems that when you fail at death you might be given salvation, a friend, guidance and a steady hand. Unfortunately for Ian this comes in the form of talking mold.

‘The Mold’ as it wishes to be known offers him a deal, give The Mold till the end of the week to turn Ian around and if not he can go back to filling his bathtub with chlorine gas. After all what’s the worst that can happen?

What is Hikikomori the solo RPG thing?

Standard

download

So far in solo RPGs we have delved into dungeons, travelled through time and battled through Normandy but now we come across perhaps the most deadly landscape of all, the human mind. This isn’t exaggeration either and I feel like I should say now that this game deals with depression, perversion, madness and suicide. Now it isn’t a heavy game in terms of rules and regulations and there is only as much depth to these fields as you yourself puts in but it’s there all the same. You won’t die from a dragons flame breath only to respawn at the start of a dungeon here. No you can find your character face down in a bath tub with no friends or family so if you feel this might be a problem then go back for another round of Dice of Arkham just not Way of the Warrior though, that wasn’t that good.

What is Crisis on Infinite Earths? Part 1

Standard

Crisis29

So this summer we are seeing not one but two world altering multi-comic series that will change the face of the industry as we know it. Characters will die, timelines rewritten yaddah yaddah, blah blah. Anyway seen as how both companies are already undermining their efforts by relasing post crisis material already, not wishing to splash out on five dollar comics plus a million must read tie ins and because not many people are prepared to give out free stuff on the internet for a snarky badly written review I have decided to go back to the beginning, to where all this started and ask does Crisis on Infinite Earths hold up and is it as confusing as everyone says?

What is Black science volume 2?

Standard

BlackScience3

Last time on Sliders Black Science…… Grant McKay and an okay bunch of scientists have invented a device that lets them travel between parallel universes. The idea is that they can visit these alternative worlds and get everything mankind need, fuel, food, cures for every major disease. As to be expected however things do not go well and the team and Grant’s children are thrown through the dimensional barrier with no way of getting home. They visit strange alternative worlds trying to clobber together a repair for the device and stay alive while fighting techno-mage alien style native Americans and fish ladies with boobs. Unfortunately by the time we start book two not much of the team remains including Grant McKay himself.

Oh yeah spoiler for Black Science vol 1

What is Afterlife with Archie vol 1: Escape from Rivendell?

Standard

Arch6

As someone who’s knowledge and experience of Archie begins and ends with vague recollections of this. I might not be the best person for this review, or maybe I am? I don’t know as I genuinely lack any kind context for what Archie is supposed to be, other than the  story of two girls who really fancy this one ginger kid who refuses to choose between them. It’s this reason why I’ve never really given Archie a shot but now that he’s got zombies I’m there and so this is how the end of the review begins…..
