Exiles New Vs Old: Issue four

Standard

Turns out that whole bi-monthly thing was just a flash in the pan for series new which makes me ask why they bothered with it at all. Especially for such a short spell and not even through their first major storyline. Either way they’re back as are the originals in my review of issue four of………………..

Exiles ‘Old vs New’: Issue Three

Standard

So this is it, issue three. The classics are starring down the barrel of one of the most popular comic book stories of all time and the newbies are starring down the barrel of a  half hearted attempt to appeal to fans of a cult t.v show, from two years ago; as originally made by a pay to win mobile game that few actually bothered to play. This is issue three of ……………………

Exiles ‘New vs Old’: Issue Two

Standard

When last we left our heroes the old guard had unleashed the worlds most powerful telepath who had been under lock and key for a very good reason and the new squad were operating at half strength and facing down a disembodied head of Galactus that was apparently eating up parallel Earths. We’re at one nill and it’s still anyone’s game in……………..

Exiles ‘Old Vs New’: Issue One

Standard

I often get accused of idolising the past, of course the comics I grew up with were better; they had better costumes, better story lines and better characters. Well I thought this time I would see if it were true. Standard

Right now the big two are trying to get newbies into comics by giant crossover events that cost an arm and a leg and have so many tie ins that you have to buy the entire years catalogue to get a half decent story out of them. This wasn’t always the case however. It used to be that the sold them at supermarkets and grocery stores. They used to be priced at a reasonable amount. They also used to come up with the most outlandish sounding tales possible to convince you to part with your twelve cent. Tales like…………………………..

What is ‘Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn’?

Standard

In January Marvel is going to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Britain’s premier super hero team. Now I guess reuniting them isn’t such a big deal when three of them are currently already on the same team but dragging the married and child blessed couple out is another matter altogether. After all while most X-fans know who Kitty, Kurt and even Rachel are the Merlin empowered defender of Britain is another matter. Still it’s hardly the first time the world of the X has dived deep into Captain Britain’s life and for that we must go back, maybe not to the beginning but to a beginning; to the first time………………………………..

What is ‘Lookouts: May we die in the forest’?

Standard

From the mind of two of the biggest break out stars of the webcomic world this short run series smashes together ‘Scouting for boys’ and your run of the mill ‘Monster Manual’. In a world where you might have to outwit a troll to simply cross a bridge, risk witches of the wild coming for your first born and your shortcut home might lead you into the lair of a demonic ape. Unlike grubby, cubbies and snotty, scouts these kids won’t be getting a badge for helping a little old lady cross the road for that won’t be quite so useful in the world of……………………..
