Well it’s kind of what it says in the title. It’s Evil Dead as a musical. Duh!
Grabbers is a low budget-ish horror comedy and that means it must just be another Shaun of the Dead where we follow some down on his luck, unhealthy shlub who finds his local town under attack from creatures beyond imagination and so must gather his friends and head down to the local boozer for a final heroic last stand. God I wish people would stop assuming that just because a horror movie has it’s tongue even ever so slightly in it’s cheek that it’s just another Shaun of the Dead. Shaun of the Dead isn’t the only self aware horror movie in existence you know.
Wait. What’s that? Oh that’s exactly what happens. Well it’s still rude of you to assume you know.
Alright well now that that’s out of the way let’s find what else is in……………
There are two things everyone wants to know on the internet; what’s your zombie plan and how many five year olds could you take in a fight? ‘Cooties’ combines both of those into one gruesome horror comedy, made back in 2014 but released today on a world that still thinks it’ll be fine just heading on down to the Winchester for a pint and waiting for this to all blow over. This is………
WolfCop, doesn’t really need a review, it’s called wolf cop, it’s about a cop who is a wolf and it has not only one of the most eighties covers since FarCry: Blood Dragon, or you know the eighties themselves, but it has the tagline of here comes the fuzz. You have either already ordered this and are now sat by your door awaiting the delivery or you are dead to me it’s not for you.
Still let’s tell you a bit about what you are missing or try to fill your time while you wait for it to arrive.
Back in the distant past of 2005 two ten or so minute shorts showed up on the internet showing dangerous cargo being hunted down, tamed and shipped in time for the holidays. The cargo was some of the most rare and dangerous pray on the planet, Santa Claus. Not only did it take skilled craftsmen to hunt them down and tame them it seemed that strict rules still had to be obeyed such as no smoking, no swearing, clean behind your ears and so forth. In fact I still recall a Jurassic Park Raptor situation when these were not followed. They were dark, funny and to the point without ever labouring the point. So it was something of a shock to find that five years later they had done a movie.
