What is ‘Heat Vision and Jack’?

Standard

We’ve had pilots from Ron Weasley, Doctor Who and ever Shaggy but this could be hard to ever top for most star power in an unpicked up t.v pilot. In the distant year of 1999 we have Jack Black then and up and coming comedian, relativly unknown outside of the comedy circtui butonly a year away till “High Fidelity”, Owen Wilson a bit part actor from a number of projects but only a year away from “Shanghai Noon”, Ben Stiller one time t.v actor, one time Emmy winner and only a year away from “Meet the Parents” and Dan Harmon a guy known for singing about masturbation  and yet only ten years away from Community, I know that seems like a relatively long amount of time but the show’s just that good and no I haven’t seen Rick and Morty yet. All of them got together for a television pilot called ………………………….

What is ‘Three Men in a Boat’?

Standard

With Top Gear now signed up for perhaps the least popular streaming service online and considering some have ended up signing with Yahoo that’s saying something. So the question is will the three grumpy old boys work well under new management and more importantly will anyone follow them over? Until then the question is where else can we find three grumpy, old, slightly sexist, men who should know better as they travel across the country bickering, arguing and complaining in the pursuit of entertainment. What is Clerks: the pilot?

Standard

Shortly after Kevin Smith redefined indie hits with Clerks and redefined cinema bombs with Mallrats some television executive decided to bring the “pop culture and expletive laden series” to prime time television. Standard

However the most important thing to note is where it is continuing, see Community has now gone online and you would expect for that to mean something like Netflix or Hulu but you would be wrong, then you might think of places like YouTube but you would also be wrong for it is now streaming on Yahoo. Now I didn’t know Yahoo did videos I hear you cry and outside of the north Americas you would be right mostly for over here in the U.K it has a handful of ‘viral’ videos and a handful of old Monty python clips. No if you want to watch it over here you have to tune in to ‘Sony TV’ Wednesday nights at ten, a whole twenty four hours after the states get it and on that box in the corner you use to play your Xbox.
So after struggling with the rabbit ears and finding batteries for the remote I was ready to begin.

What is Galavant?

Standard

Galavant

It used to be that musicals were reserved for television over the Christmas period, in order to give everyone a chance for a quick nap before opening the next bottle of sherry and having another go at the turkey, t.v shows that had gone on a bit too long and were stuck with a cast desperate to get a bit of variety on their c.v and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The same could be said for fairy tales.
Galavant aims to do both those thing, with a smile and a wink.

What is Rewind (pilot)?

Standard

rewind01

The short answer is that Rewind is a mish-mash of quantum leap and sliders along with a very small dash of Stargate all run through the Star Trek episode Year of Hell and I suppose if you are going to borrow a plot from Voyager you might as well go for one of the few good ones. It was also the pilot for a potential TV series and as the series was passed on it is thus just another direct to syfy movie starring a lot of people you get the feeling you may have seen somewhere else, about a time travelling group going back to change the past to change the future. The long answer, well that’s….
